Continue reading

Geek Chic Cosmetics: This Is My Design and Strange Aeons

Yesterday I received my very first order from Geek Chic Cosmetics.  After spying on their website for a very long time, I decided to give it a go with their 4th of July sale.  It was perfect timing because a few weeks earlier they had released their Hannibal-inspired collection called This Is My Design.  Obviously I had to try it!  It also was the perfect excuse to pick up some samples of their Cthulhu/Lovecraft-inspired collection—called Strange Aeons—that I’ve been eyeing since its release.

My Hannibal [Love] Story

Promo image of the TV series

I first knew about Hannibal (2013 – ), an adaptation of the characters developed in Thomas Harris’ novels, when it was in the post production stage.  I remember I was looking through Mads Mikkelsen’s IMDb page—yes, I know of Mads since I saw him in Valhalla Rising (2009)—when I noticed that he was going to be Hannibal Lecter in an NBC’s TV series.  I didn’t know what to expect…  I didn’t even cared to remember the premiere date.  I didn’t know who produced, who directed, or who was writing.  All I knew was that Mads was a great actor who would probably create an amazing portrait of Hannibal the Cannibal.  Continue reading

Daily Makeup: Summer 2014

I don’t think I need to write this: I’m a daily makeup user.  I love makeup.  I love reading about it, thinking about it, applying it, and buying it.  It may sound obsessive but it’s not because… me?  I’m a little miser.  I spend a lot of time thinking—Do I need this? What am I going to do with this? Where am I going to put it? This looks similar to…—about the thing(s) I want to buy before I buy it/them.  Therefore I end up not buying many of the things I like or choose at first.  This happens with e v e r y product I touch or desire.

Having said that, I want to make a series of posts about makeup because I always wanted to write about it.  It’s silly—but a silliness that makes me happy.  Today’s post consists of the products I use every day, my “basic” makeup routine.  I want to keep a record of the products I love, just in case I change them and I want to go back to them at some point.

I choose you!  Continue reading
